Our Mission Statement:
To serve as an organization of commercial, retail, agricultural, professional and educational people working together to enhance economic, civic and cultural interest of the Hutchinson area.
Our Vision Statement:
To be recognized as a leader for creating community growth opportunities leading to a future of prosperity.
2008 Priorities:
- To focus continued and determined effort on the strategies and goals outlined in the 2008 Program of Work plan.
- To increase our leadership and profile in the community as it relates to issues that affect businesses and our area.
- Provide valuable services and support to our community and business members.
- Develop and promote Hutchinson as a destination.
Key Areas of Focus
Membership Development Function:
Continue and support the A.R.M. Initiative
Attain new members (2 per month), retain current members (95%), and maintain current members through education, communication and visits..
Grow Minnesota Visits
Provide value to membership through Grow Minnesota visit program.
Update Email Policies & Procedures
Professional Development
Provide educational and value added opportunities for membership through key partnerships.
Develop "Members Only" section on Website
Increase membership value by providing information and resources through a "Members Only" access on website.
Community Development Function:
Develop and Support Public Policy Committee
Recognize and get involved with those public policy issues that directly affect members.
Hutchinson Leadership Institute Program
Continue development of institute as the "premier" leadership training resource for Hutchinson. Build and strengthen alumni involvement. Convene a 20th Anniversary design team.
Continue and Support Community Events & Services
Road Construction Updates for 2008 Projects
Provide membership with important updates regarding construction projects that may affect business.
Tourism & Marketing Function:
Develop and Promote Hutchinson as a Destination
Execute a strategic plan for the marketing and tourism resources available to the Chamber of Commerce and CVB. Provide hospitality workshops to members.
Cooperation
Increase cooperative opportunities with Explore Minnesota. Continue Regional Tourism initiatives
Communication
Continue communication efforts with Hospitality Partners. Focus on driving traffic to www.exploreminnesota.com website. Expand publicity efforts.
Administration/Goverance Function:
Fiduciary Responsibilities
Continue strict management of the budget. Review non-dues and dues related income and generate revenue to cover 2008 budget deficit.
Create & Implement Business Systems
Accounting procedures, ChamberMaster, New Members, Member visits, Marquee sign set-up.
Name Change
Drop CVB title and add Tourism in its place
Create Job Description for Administrative Assistant Position
